An ageing cellar in Gigondas: mastering temperature from the design stage
A project designed to last leaves no room for approximation. In Gigondas, Domaine Pierre Amadieu is building a new ageing cellar. Picquette has been involved from the design stage to define the technical solutions required to create stable, controlled ageing conditions.
Technical design in the service of wine
Our teams are working on several complementary systems:
• 3D modelling and technical plans to coordinate the installation from the outset;
• a chilled-water network designed around the site’s thermal requirements;
• ventilation and air-treatment systems adapted to the volumes and uses of the building;
• cold rooms integrated into the overall refrigeration design.
Temperature and humidity stability are decisive during ageing. The aim is to create an environment that supports the wine over time while making the installation reliable and easy to operate.
Mastery begins before installation
Performance starts at the design stage: anticipating thermal flows, ensuring network consistency, taking account of volumes and future uses, and sizing each component correctly.
This project illustrates Picquette’s global approach to wine-industry refrigeration: understanding the process first, then designing the technical solution around it.
Thank you to Domaine Pierre Amadieu for its trust.
